In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), hundreds of community radio stations broadcast every day with a message of hope, knowledge, and civic engagement. Through the **BANA OKAPI project**, it’s not just radio waves that spread — it’s **essential values**, **vital information**, and a **call to action**, carried by and for the children of the country.

At Afrikanet, we are proud to be part of this remarkable initiative, alongside several United Nations organizations. Because we deeply believe that technology only matters when it serves people, especially the youngest among us.

A Mission: Inform, Educate, Transform

BANA OKAPI is powered by more than 200 local radio stations that broadcast educational programs across even the most remote regions of the DRC. Hygiene, health, disease prevention, civic education — the project addresses critical everyday issues and brings this knowledge directly into homes, even without internet access.

But this initiative goes further than simply sharing information: it equips and empowers children to become tomorrow’s changemakers.

Our Contribution: Tools to Create, Learn, and Dream

Afrikanet answered a key challenge: how can we empower Congolese youth to act, innovate, learn, and express themselves, even in the most disconnected areas?

We provided carefully selected technology designed to do just that:

💻 Laptops for digital learning
📱 Smartphones to stay connected
🖥️ Monitors to encourage teamwork and collaboration
📲 Tablets to spark creativity and independence
🚁 Drones to open new horizons in agriculture, mapping, and environmental monitoring

Each piece of equipment was chosen with accessibility, inclusion, and long-term impact in mind.

The Drone: A Symbol of Future Possibilities

While drones may seem high-tech or futuristic, for Afrikanet, they are powerful tools of empowerment and transformation.

These devices, often seen as gadgets elsewhere, become gateways to opportunity. They help young people explore innovative careers, understand their environment, and take part in local development efforts. They ignite curiosity and encourage youth to become part of Africa’s digital and ecological future.

Inform, Equip, Empower: A Shared Vision

Through our involvement in BANA OKAPI, Afrikanet reaffirms a core belief: information alone isn’t enough — we must also provide the means to actthey lead. They ask questions, offer solutions, and innovate. They embody the future of Africa: connected, conscious, and confident.

Conclusion: The Future Starts Now

In the DRC and beyond, every young person deserves access to the tools they need to unlock their full potential. That’s why Afrikanet will continue working alongside institutions, local communities, and international partners to help build a more connected, fair, and empowered world.

Because when technology meets solidarity, the impossible becomes possible.
